Helm chart changelog

This page records Helm templates, values, defaults, and Kubernetes deployment-asset changes. Application behavior is tracked separately in the application changelog.

Unreleased

No unreleased Helm chart changes are recorded yet.

1.1.2 — 2026-10-09

  • Bumped the default application version (appVersion) and default image tag to 1.3.1, picking up the 1.3.1 application release (per-SVM-pair scope filters, the "Protection established" notification, and the Netty, Jackson, and base-image security fixes).

1.1.1 — 2026-09-22

  • Lowered the default container memory limit from 768Mi to 640Mi (requests unchanged at 512Mi), matching the snapmirror-controller line; the heap stays capped at ~320Mi via jvm.maxRamPercentage: 50. 1.1.0 ran comfortably at 768Mi — 640Mi trims the footprint while keeping ample non-heap headroom.

1.1.0 — 2026-09-21

  • Fixed pods being OOMKilled at the default memory limit. The base image runs the JVM with -XX:MaxRAMPercentage=80, which at a tight limit starved non-heap memory (metaspace, code cache, direct buffers). Added a jvm.maxRamPercentage value (default 50 → -XX:MaxRAMPercentage=50) so the heap leaves room for non-heap, and raised the default container memory to 768Mi limit / 512Mi request.
  • Added an extraEnv passthrough for arbitrary container environment variables (for example JVM flags via JAVA_OPTS_APPEND).
  • Bumped the default application version (appVersion) to 1.3.0.

1.0.1 — 2026-08-23

  • Moved the Helm OCI artifact to the dedicated donkeyfleet-chart repository.
  • Renamed the chart artifact to donkeyfleet-chart while keeping rendered DonkeyFleet resource names stable through nameOverride.
  • Kept the application image independently versioned in the donkeyfleet repository.

1.0.0 — 2026-08-23

  • Published the first stable public Helm chart.
  • Added configurable image, resources, scheduling, ingress, and security contexts.
  • Added bundled or external PostgreSQL and multiple supported secret-sourcing patterns.
  • Added Vault Kubernetes-auth wiring, multiple application replicas, a PodDisruptionBudget, and configurable update strategy.
  • Published standalone Docker Compose deployment assets.

Maintaining this changelog

  1. Record completed Helm or Kubernetes deployment changes under Unreleased.
  2. At release time, replace Unreleased entries with the chart version and date.
  3. Record the compatible default application version when appVersion changes.
  4. Link deployment instructions to the immutable OCI chart version.
  5. Keep published release entries unchanged; document corrections in a newer chart release.

Deployment assets and their source changelog are available in the DonkeyFleet GitHub repository.
